Cambridge CAE Exam Preparation

CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) is the second highest level Cambridge ESOL exam, at level C1 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Choose CAE if your current level of English is adequate for most purposes, such as social and professional situations, and higher education.

CAE preparation courses are held on Monday evenings. If you wish you are welcome to combine your CAE preparation course with our general English morning groups - see details on our home page.

CAE is ideal if you want to work or study abroad or to develop a career which requires language skills (e.g business, medicine, engineering). It is also useful preparation if you are working towards CPE (Certificate in Proficiency in English.

On passing the exam you will receive a certificate awarded by University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. Your CAE certificate is recognised by universities and employers throughout the world and is valid forever.

Our preparation course includes:
- Preparation for Reading, Writing, and Use of English papers
- Preparation for Speaking Test and Listening papers
- Exam tips and practice
- Written and reading homework

This course is mainly designed for people who plan to take the paper-based exam. However, students taking the computer-based exam are still able to join the course.
