Cambridge FCE (First Certificate in English) Exam Preparation

FCE is an intermediate to upper intermediate level Cambridge ESOL exam, at level B2 of the Council of Europe's Common European Francework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

FCE preparation courses are held on Thursday evenings. If you wish you are welcome to combine your FCE preparation course with our general English morning groups - see details on our home page.

Choose FCE if you want to work or study abroad or to develop a career which requires language skills (e.g business, medicine, engineering). FCE indicates sufficient proficiency in English to be of practical use in clerial, secretarial and managerial jobs in many industries, in particular tourism, where contact with English speakers is required.

Increasingly, primary and high school teachers across Europe are required to possess the FCE. On passing the exam, you will receive a certificate awarded by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. Your FCE certificate is recognised by universities and employers throughout the world and is valid forever. FCE is also useful preparation if you are working towards higher level exams such as CAE (Cambridge Advanced Examination) and CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English).

Our preparation course includes:
- Preparation for Reading, Writing, and Use of English papers
- Preparation for Speaking Test and Listening papers
- Exam tips and practice
- Written and reading homework

This course is mainly designed for people who plan to take the paper-based exam. However, students taking the computer-based exam are still able to join the course.
